Methodology
FY2026 figures are the enacted General Revenue appropriations transcribed from the enrolled bill (the same source as the Browse tab). FY2024 and FY2025 figures are the enrolled-budget columns of the West Virginia Legislative Auditor's annual General Revenue Comparison reports, matched to each unit by fund code and to each line item by activity code.
A prior year is shown for a unit only when its line items reconcile exactly to the stated total in that year's report and the total falls within a plausible band of the FY2026 figure — a guard that drops units whose source pages could not be parsed cleanly. As a result this view covers most, but not all, of the budget; coverage is shown above and expands as more units are validated.

A note on comparability
The Comparison reports and the enrolled bill occasionally state a few benefit and reserve lines differently (for example, actuarial unfunded-liability amounts versus placeholder entries). Where that happens the unit total may differ slightly from the Browse tab; the year-over-year direction of travel remains sound.
